Privacy Policy

How FlashRemind collects, uses, stores, and shares information across guest trials, accounts, study tools, analytics, AI features, and billing.

Effective date:

Section 1

Scope and summary

This Privacy Policy explains how FlashRemind handles information when you use its website, account-based study workspace, guest trial, AI features, and billing flows.

FlashRemind uses information to provide and secure the service, preserve your study progress, improve performance, process requests you initiate, and meet applicable obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Section 2

Information we collect

Depending on how you use FlashRemind, we may process:

  • Account data: email address, authentication identifiers, profile details, onboarding answers, settings, and account status.
  • Study content: deck titles, cards, question sets, imports, tags, learning-path selections, answers, ratings, review history, progress, and content you choose to publish.
  • AI inputs and outputs: prompts, selected study context, and generated responses when you use an AI feature.
  • Guest trial data: locally saved trial decks and the count used to enforce the three-creation guest allowance.
  • Technical and usage data: pages and features used, event timestamps, browser and device information, approximate location derived from an IP address, diagnostics, and performance data.
  • Support communications: messages and information you send when requesting help or exercising a data-related right.
  • Billing records: plan, subscription status, billing-customer identifiers, and transaction status received from the billing provider. FlashRemind does not receive or store your full payment-card number.

Do not upload patient-identifiable information, confidential clinical records, passwords, payment-card details, or other information that is not needed to use the service.

Section 3

Guest decks and account sync

Guests may create up to three trial decks. Before authentication, the deck content and trial count are stored locally in that browser. FlashRemind cannot recover a local guest deck after you clear site data, use a different browser or device, or leave a private-browsing session.

When you sign up or sign in successfully in the same browser, FlashRemind transfers the available local trial decks into your account and presents them in Latest decks. Once transferred, those decks become account data stored by the service. Keep the local data until you confirm the decks appear in your account.

Section 4

How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and authenticate accounts, sync guest decks, and provide requested workspace features;
  • store decks and questions, calculate review schedules, show progress, and maintain Latest decks;
  • process imports, AI requests, support messages, subscriptions, and account requests;
  • detect misuse, protect accounts, troubleshoot errors, and maintain reliability;
  • understand feature use and improve usability and performance; and
  • send essential service, security, account, or billing communications.

AI-generated medical study material can be inaccurate or outdated. FlashRemind processes AI inputs only to provide requested features, but the resulting content is for education and must be verified before use. It is not medical advice and must not be used for diagnosis, treatment, emergencies, or patient-care decisions.

Section 5

Analytics, cookies, and local storage

FlashRemind uses cookies and similar browser storage for sign-in sessions, security, navigation state, preferences, and the guest-deck trial. Blocking or deleting necessary storage may sign you out, reset local preferences or the guest trial state, and remove unsynced guest decks.

Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, and Vercel Speed Insights may collect usage, device, network, and performance information to help us understand traffic and diagnose site performance. These services may use cookies or similar identifiers according to their configuration and policies.

You can limit cookies or clear site data through your browser. Browser controls may not prevent server logs needed for security and reliability, and disabling necessary storage can stop parts of FlashRemind from working.

Section 6

When information is shared

We share information only as needed with service providers that support hosting, authentication, database storage, analytics, error monitoring, AI processing, email, customer support, and billing. They receive only the information reasonably needed for their role and process it under their own terms and our arrangements with them.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to a valid legal request, protect users or the service, investigate fraud or abuse, or complete a business reorganization. If you intentionally publish content to a community area, the published content and associated public attribution become visible to others.

Section 7

Billing and subscriptions

Paid checkout and subscription management are handled through a third-party billing provider. The provider collects payment details and sends FlashRemind limited subscription and transaction information needed to activate and manage access.

Available plans, prices, renewal terms, taxes, and checkout conditions are displayed during purchase. Billing records may be retained when needed for transaction history, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute handling, and applicable legal obligations.

Section 8

Retention and security

Account and study data are retained while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service. We may retain limited records after deletion when necessary for security, fraud prevention, transaction records, dispute resolution, backups, or legal compliance. Local guest data remains in your browser until it is synced, overwritten by the product flow, or cleared through browser controls.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information. No online service or storage method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your credentials and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized account access.

Section 9

Your choices and requests

You can edit supported profile and study information inside the workspace, manage browser storage through your browser, and manage an eligible subscription through the Billing page or its linked billing portal.

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of account information, or to raise a privacy concern, email help@flashremind.com from the address associated with your account. We may verify your identity before acting. Available rights and exceptions depend on applicable law.

Section 10

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. A revised policy will show a new effective date, and significant changes may also be communicated through the service or by email when appropriate.

Questions about this policy or FlashRemind data practices can be sent to help@flashremind.com.
